At CATC Design School you can find and develop your unique creative thumb-print by studying a graphic design course, photography course or interior design course.
Our focus is on practising, making and doing. As a student you will get guidance from leading industry practitioners, the chance to pursue your own creative goals, and prepare for a creative career.

Helmut LueckenhausenPhD, FDIA, FRSA, Executive Dean, Faculty of DesignHelmut is a leading exponent in the field of studio furniture and design for wood and maintains a regular national and international lecture program, including forum, conference and workshop presentations. He was previously Dean of Swinburne University of Technology’s Faculty of Design.
Michael O’BrienHead of Academic Studies, Interior DesignMichael O'Brien has over 17 years’ experience in the interior design industry and education arena. He has worked for prominent interior design practices both locally and numerous commercial projects including retail, corporate, exhibition, sport and hospitality environments. He was a Senior Interior Designer on London’s New Wembley Stadium.
Matt LeachHead of Academic Studies,Communication & Graphic Design
Matt has 13 years’ industry experience in visual communication. A Billy Blue graduate himself, he studied and worked under the late Ross Renwick, the founder of Billy Blue. Matt has played a role in design conferences and founded Empty Magazine, an art-design world journal. He also worked with the City of Sydney on a project that explores thinking models and idea generation through real-city applications.
Clive HutchisonHead of Academic Studies,Photo Imaging
Clive has worked as, and taught photography in the secondary, VET and Higher Education sectors, for over 30 years. Along the way he has been a video producer and online content developer. Clive also maintains his own creative practice and participates in exhibitions and the production of multimedia works.
College history
For over 30 years, CATC has been creating a safe space for dreams and skills to find each other. Established in 1982, CATC was previously known as Commercial Arts Training College and is one of Australia’s oldest privately owned design schools. We were acquired by Think Education in 2008.
