Employment rates are high for counsellors and psychologists as hundreds of thousands of Australians rely on counselling services. But as social, financial and other pressures increase, access to trained, trusted professionals is difficult. An industry-approved qualification from JNI is just want you need to be part of this very rewarding industry.

At JNI you explore a range of counselling and psychotherapy theories and modalities and grow your knowledge of challenges faced by individuals, families and groups in the 21st century.

JNI qualifications available:

  • Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling)
  • Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Community Services)
  • Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Human Resource Management)
  • Masters of Counselling and applied Psychotherapy

Employment opportunities exist across the community, public and private sectors in areas such as health, welfare and relationship counselling agencies, group support in community and public sector initiatives, e.g. drug and alcohol programs, and organisational settings like staff selection and recruitment, training and change management.

Many JNI graduates establish their own private practices or integrate clinical practice with teaching or work in organisations. If you're ready to embark on private practice, specialise in specific issues or maintain your client base with issues such as:
