Visa requirements

You may apply for a student visa once you have the following documents:
  • Confirmation that you have been accepted to study at Think Education
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

International students in Australia must meet the conditions of their visas throughout their entire study. The visa conditions attached to your visa are included with your visa when it is granted. Students can check their visa details and conditions via the VEVO website.

  • Before you arrive
    There are a few things you can do to make the process easier. You should prepare a folder which includes:
    • Official documents, including a valid passport
    • Offer letter from Think Education
    • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

    • Certified copies of previous education (if applicable)
    • Other personal identification documents
    • Medical records and prescriptions
  • When you arrive
    You must present the following at Australian airports:
    • Passport
    • Passenger card (usually given to you on the flight before landing)

    Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS)

    The ESOS Framework is a set of legal regulations related to international students studying in Australia on student visas. It sets guidelines and minimum standards to protect you as a student as well as protecting Australia's reputation for providing quality education and support services.     Think Education is registered by Australia’s national regulator of higher education, the Tertiary Education and Standards Agency (TEQSA). TEQSA assesses universities for compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework to ensure a high standard of teaching and curricula, quality student outcomes and a positive student experience. The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) and related legislation is designed to safeguard the interests of students coming to Australia on student visas. The legislation aims to protect and enhance Australia’s reputation for quality education, to provide tuition protection and support the integrity of the student visa program. The ESOS Act ensures that international students studying in Australia receive the same standard of education as Australian students, and are treated fairly regarding the payment of fees and receiving refunds.     The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the Australian national system that sets the standards for Australian qualifications. All courses offered by Think Education are AQF compliant.

  • I am under 18. Are there any changes to how I apply and accept an offer?

    If you are under 18, have an offer to study with Think Education and plan to travel to Australia on a student visa, you will need to have formal arrangements in place for accommodation and welfare before the Department of Home Affairs will process your visa.

  • What are the English requirements for my course?

    To gain entry into a course at Think Education, you will need proof of your English proficiency. International applicants must satisfy our English language requirements so that you can manage lectures, assignments and examinations. English requirements vary depending on your chosen studies, so please check the Entry Requirements on the specific course page for more details.

    If you want to improve your English skills before you start studying for your degree, the Torrens University Australia Language Centre (TULC) provides English for Academic Purposes courses. Our courses are designed to assist our learners’ transition from English to a higher education course, and are taught by an experienced faculty of highly qualified TESOL teachers who will ensure you are English-ready before you begin your course.

  • How can international students get a scholarship in Australia?
    New international students at Think Education may be eligible for an international student scholarship in Australia, depending on which intake you commence in, country of citizenship and the course you are applying for.   • How many hours can international students work in Australia?

  • What are the implications of online study for my international student visa?
    International student visa conditions state you must not enrol into more than a third, or 33 per cent, of online subjects over your course, and must study at least one subject that is face-to-face in each study period. All face-to-face courses are also available for online mode of delivery.
