What is Clinical Myotherapy?
A Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy equips you with skills and knowledge in evidence-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated conditions.
This course combines health science with skills in manual therapy, pain management and exercise therapy. Gain supervised experience at our student-led clinics and external placements, where you’ll help people recover from pain or injury and improve their physical function and quality of life.
Learning outcomes and Work-Integrated Learning
- Learn hands-on treatment methods, including soft tissue techniques, dry needling and joint mobilisation
- Study the biological and social sciences underpinning the discipline
- Understand the complexities of how the human body moves
- Extensive clinical experience
- Master the art of improving physical function and wellbeing
- This course has a requirement of 300 points of work-integrated learning.
ANTA recognised credentials
On graduation, you are eligible to register with the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA).

ATMS membership
Upon graduation, you are eligible to register with the Australian traditional Medicine Society.

Subjects and units
Delivered both on campus and online, this course comprises 23 core subjects and 1 electives, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week; three hours facilitated and seven self-directed. Assessments may include activity-based assignments, online quizzes, and practical exams. International students on a student visa must not enrol into any more than a third or 33% of online subjects over their course and must study at least one subject that is face to face in each trimester.

Work Integrated-Learning Hours
Myotherapy students are required to complete 210 hours of clinical practicum experience at The Practice Wellbeing Centre and 300 points of Work-Integrated Learning via the Professional Development Program.You can source Work-Integrated Learning opportunities, including placements, through our Careers Connect database, all vetted for quality and relevance by Think Education's Learning Facilitators.

FEE-HELP
Eligible Australian students may choose to defer some, or all, of their tuition fees through FEE-HELP, a loan scheme repaid through the tax system based on income.

Before you begin your course application, check you meet all the requirements listed below.
Year 12 (Australian secondary school certificate) or equivalent
OR
Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Leve 4), or above
OR
Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent.
OR
Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent, and a minimum three years of full time relevant work experience that demonstrates skills and knowledge gained through paid or unpaid employment, formal learning and/or non-formal learning (presented on a current resume with attached cover letter).

Fee payment
Course fees can be paid across three study periods. Each instalment to be paid before the beginning of the academic stage census date.
