What is an Enrolled Nurse?

With a Diploma of Nursing, you’ll be qualified as an enrolled nurse. You’ll play an important role in promoting health and wellness while improving the quality of life and care for people in your community. As a nurse, you’ll work in a range of dynamic environments to provide support and medical treatment, giving you the opportunity to improve lives every day. Or you can choose to further your education by applying credits from your diploma towards a Bachelor of Nursing, leading to a career as a registered nurse.

Head of Nursing
Professor Kathleen Tori is a highly motivated and committed nursing academic with an extensive background in learning and teaching, underpinned with higher degree studies in educational pedagogies and curriculum development. Kathy completed her Ph.D. in 2017 and her research interests include all facets of the Australian Nurse Practitioner models of care: transitional processes of the role, barriers, and enablers that challenge successful implementation, including the economic impact and the sustainability of emerging nurse-led health care, particularly in rural areas. In addition to her academic and research profile, Kathy is an advanced practice nurse and was endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty areas of Emergency Nursing and Critical Care, prior to moving to Primary Health Nursing. Kathleen demonstrates excellence in nursing and was awarded a Fellowship from the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners in 2016.
