Hi Kristie, can you tell us a little bit about your background and career path?
I have been working for 12 years for the Sydney railway.
What prompted you to study nursing?
I was working in the medical field at the very beginning of my career but I had to stop. Nursing is in my blood, it’s a family matter. I can say I love nursing and it was the time for me to go back to what I love.
Why did you choose THINK Health Education?
First because the reviews were very good so, I decided to ask for more information. Then, I received a call from a career advisor, he was very welcoming and answered every single question. He invited me to an orientation day, it was my first time on the campus and it was also when I decided that THINK Health Education was the right fit for me.
Are you currently studying full-time/part-time/online/on campus/or flex?
I’m at the very end of my study, only few weeks left. I have been studying full-time which is only 2.5 days per week at school, very convenient. I easily managed to deal with studying full-time and taking care of my family.
What are some other things you do outside of studying?
I have 3 daughters, which is a full-time job.
Are they any subjects that have stood out to you the most? Could you describe why?
Every single subject where interesting but I would say Medication. It is hard to describe why, I think I just enjoy the mess in it!
What’s a typical “nursing student” day like?
FULL ON!! You will get power point presentations, exam revisions, lab practices… The day flies and you never get bored.
Would you recommend THINK Health Education?
Definitely! It’s been a wonderful experience for me and also because the educators are truly amazing! They are very helpful and supportive, they back you up!
What advice do you have for any prospective nursing students out there?
Be patient and only do nursing if you love it!
